High-Traffic Site Hardening

The challenge

The client's site had gone down during their busiest sales day the previous year, right when traffic — and revenue — was at its peak. They needed a real fix before the next seasonal spike, not just a bigger hosting plan.

The approach

We ran a full security audit (finding and closing several outdated-plugin vulnerabilities), rebuilt the caching strategy with selective exclusion rules for logged-in and checkout-style pages, and set up load testing to simulate the expected traffic spike weeks in advance — catching and fixing three separate bottlenecks before they became a live incident.

The result

The site stayed online through the entire traffic spike the following year, handling several times the previous year's peak load without an outage.
