Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Aleksandar Rasevic ("I," "me," or "the site"), based in Novi Sad, Serbia, collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit aleksandarrasevic.dev or contact me through it. This policy is written to comply with the Serbian Law on Personal Data Protection ("Zakon o zaštiti podataka o ličnosti," Official Gazette of RS No. 87/2018, in force since 21 August 2019), which closely follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are visiting from the EU, UK, or elsewhere, the same practices described here apply to you as well.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What personal data I collect

Contact form — when you submit the contact form, I collect your name, email address, and whatever message you write, in order to reply to your inquiry.

AI chat assistant — the conversation you have with the AI assistant on this site is stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) so the conversation continues if you reload the page — it is not stored on my server as a matter of course. If, during the conversation, you share your name, contact details, and project requirements, and the assistant determines it has enough information for a useful inquiry, it sends a summary of that conversation to my email inbox so I can follow up. That summary includes the details you shared and the relevant parts of the conversation.

Analytics — if Google Analytics is active on this site, it collects standard usage data (pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser type, time spent on the site) using cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details and how to opt out.

Server logs — like virtually every website, the hosting server automatically logs basic technical data (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting purposes. These logs are not used to identify individual visitors.

3. Why I process this data (legal basis)

• Contact form and AI chat leads: your consent, given by voluntarily submitting your details, and my legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries.
• Analytics: consent (via the cookie banner, where applicable).
• Server logs: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functioning correctly.

4. How long I keep your data

Contact form submissions and AI chat lead emails are kept in my inbox for as long as reasonably needed to manage our business relationship, and are deleted when no longer needed — typically within 24 months of our last contact, unless a project or ongoing service relationship means I need to keep them longer. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own default retention settings. Your own device's local chat history stays only on your device and is under your control — clearing your browser data removes it.

5. Who else sees your data (processors and third parties)

I use a small number of external services to run this site, each acting as a data processor:

• Anthropic — the AI chat assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. The text of your conversation is sent to Anthropic's servers (located in the United States) to generate a reply. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics — if active, processes usage data on servers located outside Serbia and the EU (United States). Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is recognized as providing an adequate level of protection.
• Email/hosting provider — used to send and receive emails and host the website. Standard business-grade providers with their own security and privacy practices.

I do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.

6. International data transfers

Because Anthropic and Google are US-based, using this site means some data is transferred outside Serbia and the EU/EEA. Under the Serbian data protection law, such transfers are permitted where the recipient country or organization is covered by an adequacy framework or appropriate safeguards are in place — both providers used here meet that standard.

7. Your rights

Under the Law on Personal Data Protection, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data I hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out)

This site is a professional/business website and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time as the site or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here directly — there is no separate mailing list to notify.
